Fundraiser for Fruchtalarm and the Bielefeld Girls’ Shelter
For formdrei’s 40th anniversary, we deliberately decided against gifts and instead launched a fundraising campaign. Under the motto “Donations instead of gifts,” we teamed up with our guests and long-standing business partners to collect donations for two special projects in our hometown of Bielefeld: Fruchtalarm and the Mädchenhaus Bielefeld.
A strong result for a good cause
Thanks to the tremendous support, over €10,000 was raised. We as a company added to this amount and then donated it in equal parts to both organizations.
On Monday, September 22, 2025, our managing directors Armin Hollensteiner and Fabian Räker personally presented the symbolic donation checks to representatives of Fruchtalarm and the girls’ shelter. The joy on both sides was immense—and for us, it was a moving moment to be able to show our appreciation in this way.
Why Fruchtalarm and the Bielefeld Girls’ Shelter?
We deliberately chose these two projects:
- Both do great and valuable work.
- They come from our hometown of Bielefeld—regionality is important to us.
- We also have a personal connection to Fruchtalarm, as we know the founder personally.

This is the Bielefeld Girls’ Shelter
The Mädchenhaus Bielefeld is an important point of contact for girls and young women who are affected by or threatened with sexual, physical, and/or psychological violence. The facility offers safe havens, confidential counseling, and a wide range of support to give those affected new perspectives and security. Through its work, the Girls’ Shelter has been helping girls and young women in difficult life situations to gain courage, self-confidence, and new opportunities for many years.
It has already been decided how incoming donations will be used: part of the money will go towards a youth trip to Langeoog, where the young women will have the opportunity to develop, experience freedom, and simply get away from it all. For many of them, this will be the first time they have ever been on vacation or been able to take a break from their stressful everyday lives. The other part of the donations will be used for administrative and training costs. This will enable the purchase of new materials and the financing of further training, which will ensure the quality of the work in the long term.

This is Fruchtalarm!
Fruchtalarm brings color and joy to the everyday life of seriously ill children in hospitals. Volunteer teams regularly visit children’s cancer wards throughout Germany with a mobile children’s cocktail bar. The young patients can mix their own non-alcoholic cocktails – a playful moment that brings back self-determination, creativity, and joie de vivre.
Fruchtalarm is also active in children’s hospices. In addition to the joy of doing things together, the focus there is on consciously experiencing quality of life. The colorful cocktails not only provide moments of lightheartedness, but also help the children to consume calories and important nutrients in a playful way – especially in situations where eating is often difficult.
An anniversary to remember
Our 40th anniversary will remain in our memories for a long time to come – not only because of the celebrations, but above all because of our collective willingness to help. We are proud to be able to make a contribution together with our partners and employees that directly benefits Bielefeld and does good there.
